NCP leader Sunil Tatkare's namesake in fray from Raigad

Days after senior NCP leader and state Water Resources Minister Sunil Tatkare filed his nomination papers from Raigad Lok Sabha seat, his namesake from Rashtravadi Congress Party (RCP) today entered the fray.
Sunil Shyam Tatkare of RCP filed his nomination papers from the seat where the NCP stalwart is contesting his maiden Lok Sabha election. The NCP leader had already submitted his documents on April 2.
Another candidate who filed his nomination today is one Muzzaffer Choudhari who is contesting as an Independent.
With this, the total number of candidates having filed their nominations so far has reached 17. Today was the last date for filing of nominations while the last date of withdrawal is April 9.

Sitting MP and Shiv Sena leader Anant Gite filed his nomination papers on April 3.
Raigad comprises Pen, Alibaug, Shrivardhan, Mahad, Dapoli and Guhagar Assembly segments, and is going to polls on April 24.
Former IPS officer Sanjay Apranti is contesting on AAP ticket from the constituency which the Congress swapped with NCP for Hatkanangale and Hingoli seats.
Congress is contesting 27 seats and its alliance partner NCP 21 seats.
