"Over the last two years, when you look at what was promised to the people of India and what has actually been delivered, you see a very very sad record of broken promises and dismal failures," senior party leader and MP M V Rajeev Gowda told reporters here.
The BJP's track record included the party embracing numerous projects it had opposed while in Opposition, he said, adding it had "done a dazzling, dizzying u-turn and taken up UPA projects they opposed and given them new names."
Gowda criticised the Modi government over various issues, including job creation and controversies in education sector.
He slammed the government for its 'crackdown' on a students' group in IIT-Madras last year, the Ambedkar-Periyar Study Circle, saying the organisation was 'disallowed' from having a discussion "on the injustices" backward and other communities face in their daily life.
He also slammed the Centre on the Rohit Vemula suicide episode.
