The Narendra Modi government can be called a government of "suit-boot and jhoot-loot", senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member Pramod Tewari today said, terming as "black tenure" the one year of NDA rule.
"This is the government of capitalists and big people... the government of suit-boot and jhoot-loot...This is the government which encourages the rich at the cost of poor, capitalists at the cost of farmers, industrial houses at the cost of weaker sections and communal forces at the cost of affected sections of the society," he said.
Tewari said the Modi government has inducted those who have harmed the social fabric of the country, tarnished its image while embellishing that of the prime minister. The tenure has been most disappointing, he told reporters here.
He cited 15 main areas where the Modi government has erred and dubbed as "Himalayan blunders", the false promise of getting back black money and negligence of farmers forcing them to commit suicide.
Earlier, at a meeting of district, city and block chiefs of the party, AICC General Secretary and incharge of Congress affairs in the state, Madhusudan Mistri attacked the Modi government.
"Those who are today claiming that Congress has done nothing, they should tell as to what they have done for the country...No one can wipe out the works done by Congress. If we have lost today, we will win again...Though we have lost the elections, we have not lost our confidence," Mistri added.
