The security forces under the command of Kokrajhar district Superintendent of Police had launched an operation last night in a forest area, 9 kms north of Sorabil under Gossaigaon police station, IGP L R Bishnoi told PTI.
The insurgent was identified as Khwmthe (Khwmthe) alias Dada (28) and a 7.65 mm pistol, one magazine, four rounds of live ammunition, three fired cases and two 36-HE hand grenades were recovered from him, Bishnoi said.
