The South Delhi Municipal Corporation also directed its officials to expedite finalising the layout plans for at least 50 of the 187 colonies that fall under it.
Delhi government in September 2012 had announced regularisation of 895 unauthorised colonies. Finalisation of layout plans was key for setting up various infrastructures like schools, hospitals, roads and drainage system in the settlements.
42 such colonies fall under the jurisdiction of NDMC out of which the layout plan of Bhagwan Park was approved today. The layout plan was prepared by NDMC in collaboration with IP University.
"Out of all the zones in SDMC, 25 per cent colonies from each zone will be chosen in the first phase for making this plan," Mukesh Yadav, Director (Press and Information) of the South Corporation said.
