NDMC registers Rs 30 crore increase in property tax revenue

NDMC has registered an increase of Rs 30 crore in its property tax revenue in the the year 2015-16 in comparison to the last year, bringing over one lakh more properties under the tax net.
The property tax collections in 2015-16 stood at Rs 371 crore in 2015-16 which is Rs 30 crore more than the previous year's collection of Rs 341, said North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) leader Vijay Prakash Pandey.
Under the UPIC system, a total of 1,01,718 properties have been brought under the tax next and notices have been issued to 1.20 lakh properties so far. This will result in significant boost in the property tax revenue in the current year, he said.
The toll tax revenue of the NDMC also registered a massive increase in 2015-16.
The civic body received about Rs 204 crore as toll tax in 2015 which is 78 crore more than that in 2014-15. It had received Rs 126 crore as toll tax revenue in 2014, he added.
