The city-based North Eastern Council today said it has targeted to implement e-office from March next year to ensure transparency, increased accountability, assured data security and data integrity.
The preliminary work to implement e-office has already begun even as its Secretary Ram Muivah today communicated with DoNER Minister Jitendra Singh by sending a file through e-office application.
"Preliminary work to implement e-office has begun at the NEC and March 2017 has been set as a target date," an official release said.
E-office is a Digital Workplace Solution Mission Mode Project under the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) developed and implemented by the National Informatics Centre (NIC).
It establishes a single product for reuse in the government based on Central Secretariat Manual of e-Office Procedure (CSMeOP).
According to NEC officials, the benefits of e-office are enhanced transparency, increased accountability, assured data security and data integrity, transform government work culture and ethics and promote innovation by releasing staff energy and time from unproductive procedures.
The e-office application covers File Management system, Knowledge Management System, Leave Management System, Personnel Information System, Management Information System, Smart Performance Appraisal, Property Return Information System Management and so on.
