Need to train youth to make them skilled in IT sector: Raje

Youth are the assets and pride of Rajasthan, Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje said today, as she stressed on the need for making them skilled in Information Technology sector.
Raje was speaking as the chief guest at a swearing-in ceremony of elected representatives of students union in Jhalawar government PG College in her home constituency.
"Student's unions are like a training ground where one learns discipline, dedication and hard work," Raje said urging the newly elected representatives of the student's union led by ABVP to embrace the responsibility.
"It is the age of IT and youth need to upgrade them in skills that are requirement of the time," Raje said, adding that, "Youth are the assets and pride of the state and once they are strengthened, the state can never be weak."

Raje said college education in the state still needs to a change and transformation but added the level of education in the state has raised higher and the students from here have gained recognition at national-level.
Raje claimed Rajasthan was the first state in the country to have taken steps towards financial inclusion and cashless and card transactions with the introduction of Bhamashah Card in her last tenure.

"Rajasthan did pioneering work with the introduction of Bhamashah card and Bhamashah bank account in the name of head woman of the family. Over 4 crore individuals and one crore families in the state are currently beneficiaries under Bhamashah cards," Raje said.

In recent years, Rajasthan has also performed well in skill development mission and in the last two years has bagged two medals for outstanding performance in the sector, Raje said.
To accelerate the skill mission, 1600 ITIs (Industrial Training Institutions) are functional in the state and two skill universities, one in government and the other in private sector are proposed to come up soon.
Referring to an army recruitment rally being organised in Jhalawar, Raje urged youth to join the Indian Army and serve the nation.
During the function, Raje administered oath to representatives of the ABVP-led students union and appealed to the workers of the RSS youth wing to maintain the winning run.

Earlier in the day, Raje in flagged off a race of a batch of 150 aspirants during the army recruitment camp.
During her visit to Jhalawar, she laid the foundation stone of development projects worth around Rs 15 crore and announced Rs 80.69 crore for work on NH 12 in the area.
State minister Yunus Khan and local MP Dushyant Singh, among others, accompanied Raje on her one-day visit to her home constituency.
