Delhi records max temp of 24.4 deg C

Mainly clear skies prevailed in the national capital today with the maximum temperature settling at 24.4 degrees Celsius, two notches above the normal.
The minimum temperature dropped to 7.9 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season's average at Safdarjung while it was recorded 5.9 degrees at Lodhi Road. Palam registered a minimum of 8.2 degrees, a MeT Department official said.
The visibility was recorded at 1200 metres at Safdarjung at 5.30 AM and 1000 metres at 8.30 AM. It significantly improved to 2000 metres at 11.30 AM, the MeT said.
At Palam, visibility was 1000 metres both at 5.30 AM and 8.30 AM. It improved beyond 2000 metres at 11.30 AM, the official said.
As many as 42 trains were delayed and 9 were cancelled due to bad weather conditions. Also, 28 trains were rescheduled, a Railways spokesperson said.
The humidity level oscillated between 94 and 33 per cent, the MeT official said.
The weatherman has predicted mainly clear skies for tomorrow with shallow to moderate fog in the morning.
"Maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to settle around 24 and 8 degrees Celsius, respectively," the weatherman said.
Yesterday, the city recorded a minimum temperature of 10.4 degrees Celsius while the maximum temperature settled at 24.3 degrees Celsius.
