Nepal and India should collaborate in science and technology

India is eager to share its knowledge in science and technology with Nepal and has promised to resume the pending works of Rs 200 crore for establishing a Science Learning Center here.
Nepal can benefit a lot if its National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) cooperate with India's National Institute of Science and Technology, India's Ambassador to Nepal Ranjit Rae said today.
Speaking at a event, "Youth and Science Policy in Nepal: A Dialogue Forum" Ambassador Rae also assured to resume the pending works of Rs 200 crore for establishing a Science Learning Center in the premises of NAST here.
We will look into how best we can help and support in the development of science and technology in Nepal, he said.
Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Narahari Acharya underlined the need to establish a link between the aspirations of the youth and scientific knowledge so that the country can attain prosperity soon.
He also underlined the need to promulgate a constitution through the Constituent Assembly at the earliest so that the country can move forward on the path of economic prosperity and development by attaining peace and stability.
The government is committed to providing necessary support to develop the field of science and technology, he said.
The bond of friendship between Nepal and India is very strong and we want to utilize this bond of friendship in moving forward on the path of prosperity, forging cooperation and collaboration between the two countries in the field of science and technology, Vice-chancellor of NAST Jiba Raj Pokharel said.
