A 5.6-magnitude earthquake that shook Nepal today was felt strongly in some counties in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, local authorities said.
Yadong and Gyirong counties in Tibet's Xigaze City felt the quake strongly. No casualties or economic losses have been reported so far, according to sources with the regional seismological bureau.
Local governments have sent personnel to investigate the impact of the earthquake, state-run Xinhua news agency reported from Lhasa, Tibet's capital.
While Nepal's National Seismological Center recorded the intensity of the quake at 5.6, China's Earthquake Networks Center said the quake's magnitude was 5.1.
The epicenter, at a depth of about 8 km, was monitored at 27.59 degrees north latitude and 86.51 degrees east longitude.
