On the suspension of Atuar Rahman Mazarbhuiya for alleged anti-party activities, AIUDF had submitted an application to Speaker Pranab Kumar Gogoi to recognise Kar as their deputy leader.
The Speaker today made the announcement in the House about Kar, an AIUDF MLA from Lumding.
Mazarbhuiya was suspended from the membership of the party recently for remaining absent from the Rajya Sabha elections on February 7 despite repeated assurances to be present on that day.
