New building, infrastructure for TN govt central press

Tamil Nadu government would construct a new building for its Central Press which would have modern infrastructure at a total cost of Rs 24 crore, Chief Minister Jayalalithaa announced in the Assembly today.
Making a suo motu statement, Jayalalithaa said since the old building, measuring over 84,000 sq ft housing the central press, was damaged in a fire, a new one would be constructed at a cost of Rs 21.59 crore.
An Automatic Sewing Machine for Binding would also be acquired at a cost of Rs 2.50 crore, to undertake time-bound book publishing work and clear orders of the government, she said.
