Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has welcomed the railways' decision.
At an event organised by BJP MP Vijay Goel at Talkatora stadium here today, she said, "Having worked as an MP for so many years, I know it is not an easy task to ask railways for additional stoppage of a train. It requires a great amount of effort to get it done as railways gives various explainations for not doing it."
Goel, who is president of Balaji Development Committee, had courted controversy by reportedly stopping Ajmer Shatabdi Express mid-way in Rajasthan to visit the Lord Hanuman shrine in Mehandipur in Dausa when he was on way to take part in a programme to showcase the Modi government's achievements.
