The next executive committee meeting of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and the Annual Awards function will be held here on November 28 and 29 respectively, the continental governing body of the game said.
The decision to hold the next meeting of AFC's ruling body here on November 28 was taken at the Executive Committee meeting in Manama yesterday.
Next day, the AFC Annual Awards night will be held here. Last year, the event was held in Manila.
The All India Football Federation President Praful Patel was recently elected as one of the vice-presidents of the AFC.
Important issues addressed by the Manama Executive Committee meeting of the AFC, included the upcoming FIFA Presidential elections and the need for Asia to have a common position, initial proposals on the future of coach education and player development, a new vision and mission for the AFC which will form the basis for the AFC's future Strategic Plan.
Speaking after the meeting, AFC President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa said, "A new FIFA President will soon be elected at an Extraordinary Congress. The AFC Executive Committee has agreed on the importance of having a common position in order to best defend and promote Asian football.
"I will, together with Asia's other representatives to the FIFA Executive Committee, ensure that this common position is heard within FIFA and with the other Confederations," Shaikh Salman was quoted as saying by the AFC's official website.
