The new timetable of Railways will come into effect from October 1 this year as against July 1, since the public transporter is introducing some major changes in the train schedules.
"The existing timetable will continue to be valid upto September 30 this year. All trains will run as per the schedule of existing time table upto September-end," a senior Railway Ministry official said.
Generally, the new timetable becomes operational from July 1.
"Since speed of some trains have been increased, lots of changes in timings are expected," the official said, adding, "It is taking time to finalise the timetable."
Accordingly the new timetable will come into effect from October instead of July, the official said.
