Nickel and tin prices weakened in an otherwise lacklustre non-ferrous metals market here today due to sustained stockists selling amidst subdued demand from alloy industries.
Select copper also edged down on lower offtake from consumers industries.
On global front, industrial metal copper slipped in early trade, taking a breather from last week's rally, and falling away from a three-week top as traders took profit ahead of China trade data which showed a deterioration in its economy, denting appetite for risk.
Nickel and tin dropped by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 835 and Rs 1,200 from Monday's closing level of Rs 840 and Rs 1205.
Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper wire bar and zinc softened by a Re per kg to Rs 412, Rs 406, Rs 440 and Rs 158 respectively.
