Nickel futures gain on positive global cues

Amid firm global cues, nickel prices traded higher 0.55 per cent to Rs 579.90 per kg in futures trade today.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in June moved up by Rs 3.20, or 0.55 per cent, to Rs 579.90 per kg, in a business turnover of 460 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in July traded higher by Rs 2.70, or 0.46 per cent, to Rs 585.90 per kg in six lots.
Analysts said besides pick up in demand alloy-makers in the spot market and a firm trend in base metals in global markets, mainly attributed the rise in nickel prices at futures trade.
Globally, nickel rose 1.4 per cent at the London Metal Exchange.
