The Indian Meteorological Department (IDM) yesterday said that conditions are becoming favourable for advancement of southwest monsoon which boosted the market sentiment.
The CNX Nifty resumed slightly higher at 8,240.30 and hovered in a range of 8,279.20 and 8,212.20 before concluding at 8,262.35, disclosing a gain of 38.15 points or 0.46 per cent.
The CNX Nifty had finished lower by 11.25 points or 0.14 per cent yesterday.
However, Bank Of Baroda fell by 2.67 pct, PNB 2.12 pct, NTPC 2.12 pct, VEDL 2.05 pct and HCL Tech 1.23 pct.
Turnover in the cash segment fell to Rs 15,498.06 crs from Rs 16,096.24 crore yesterday.
A total of 7,774.05 lakh shares changed hands in 68,50,814 trades and the total market capitalisation of the NSE stood at Rs 98,31,663 crore.
