Nifty rebounds 12 pts to end at 8,412.80

Benchmark Nifty recovered by 12 points to close at 8,412.80 today on bargain hunting despite rise in inflation, foreign capital outflows and lower global advices.
Realty, PSU Bank, Banking, Metal, Financial Services and Auto counters firmed up on good buying enquiries while shares of IT sector declined on selling pressure.
The CNX 50-share Nifty opened lower at 8,390.95 and hovered in a range of 8,426.70 and 8,374.40 before ending at 8,412.80, showing a gain of 12.45 points or 0.15 per cent.
Nifty Realty rose by 1.34 per cent, PSU Bank 1.69 per cent, Nifty Bank 0.97 per cent, Nifty Metal 0.97 per cent, Nifty Financial Services 0.95 per cent and Nifty 0.52 per cent, while Nifty IT fell 0.88 per cent.
Major gainers were Tata Steel (2.71 per cent), Adani Ports (2.24 per cent), Tata Motors (2.24 per cent) and SBI (1.93 per cent).
However, HCL fell by 2.32 per cent, Infosys 2.06 per cent, Eicher Motor 1.98 per cent, Tata Power 1.95 per cent and ONGC 1.47 per cent.
A total of 674 scrips declined, 943 advanced, while 108 remained unchanged. Total securities that hit their price bands were 110.
Turnover in the cash segment fell to Rs 15,312.20 crore from Rs 18,619.03 on Friday.
A total of 7,993.36 lakh shares changed hands in 6,692,898 trades. The market capitalisation of NSE stood at Rs 10,872,785 crore.
