Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari will begin a 10-day vacation in London from Friday, his office said, without disclosing whether he will also see his doctor there.
"While the president is on vacation, Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo will be in acting capacity. President Buhari will be in London for the holiday," presidential spokesman Femi Adesina said in a statement.
He said the parliament had been notified about the president's trip, his latest of several to the British capital in recent months.
In May, the Nigerian leader was in London for three days for medical reasons, having spent some five months last year receiving treatment for an undisclosed ailment.
The development is bound to stir fresh doubts about the health of the 75-year-old retired general and his ability to campaign for re-election at polls scheduled for February.
Nigeria's main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has always insisted Buhari is unwell and unfit to govern, but his aides have dismissed the claims.
The health of the president is a sensitive issue in Nigeria following the death in office in 2010 of then president Umaru Musa Yar'Adua, which followed months of treatment abroad and sparked political turmoil.
