Sitharaman would submit her nomination at 2 pm on June 21 at the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, said Sudhish Rambhotla, state BJP spokesperson.
Sitharaman's husband hails from coastal Andhra Pradesh. BJP decided to nominate her for the Upper House from the state after a vacancy arose following the death of N Janardhana Reddy on May 9.
The last date for filing nominations is June 23. The election is slated for July 3.
Sitharaman, who was inducted into Narendra Modi-led government as a Union Minister of State last month, will have to become a member of either house of parliament within six months.
