Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar today slammed the Niti Aayog for allegedly shaping ideas to "protect the interests" of the corporate sector and "sacrificing" the interests of the common and poor people.
"Niti Aayog by its works is only shaping the ideas to protect the interests of the corporate sectors, but it was not forming any concept to give relief to the common and poor people of the country, who constitute major portion of the population," Sarkar told a public rally here.
He alleged demonetisation and introduction of GST without any proper infrastructure had led to massive unemployment in the country, but the Central government led by Narendra Modi was trying to divert the attention of the common people from real problems by "using religion".
Sarkar said that there was no basic difference between the former UPA government and the present NDA government, because both the governments were "serving the interests" of the corporate sector in the country and outside the country.
He said the two Left governments in the country in Tripura and Kerala are trying to formulate policies and rules to protect the interests of the common and poor people of the country and showing the 'model of alternative principles and good governance'.
