Inaugurating the 'Kaushiki Bhawan' at Veerpur in Supaul district, he said it is a multi-purpose building named after the Kosi region, which was known as 'Kaushiki' in ancient times, a government release said.
Kumar said that his government is committed to end social evils such as dowry and child marriage, besides ensuring prohibition.
"We are now heading towards de-addiction from prohibition and have to make an addiction-free society. No one can stop Bihar from making progress if the society is de-addicted. If prohibition can be successful in Bihar, then why can't it be successful in states like UP, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan," the release quoting Kumar, said.
"It is not a simple thing. This is a big achievement. Society can move faster if both men and women work together. If this model is accepted by the entire country, then it will leave behind China," he said.
Kumar also inaugurated various schemes worth Rs 125 crore at Kishanganj, which included a sub-divisional office building and an industrial centre, a polytechnic college at Thakurganj block, six hostels for minorities and anti-erosion works at 50 villages.
Addressing a gathering at Arrabari in Pothia block of the district, Kumar said he has decided to set up an agriculture college at Arrabari area to give a boost to farm activity, which has enormous potentials.
