Nitish acclaims turnaround story of BRPNN

BRPNN which contructed 1,250 small and big bridges in the state in the last eight years

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today lauded turnaround story of Bihar Rajya Pul Nirman Nigam (BRPNN) from being on verge of closure to a profit earning organistion in the last eight years.

Once on the verge of closure, BRPNN which has contructed 1,250 small and big bridges in the state in the last eight years, has earned a profit of Rs 63.81 crore in 2012-13, Kumar said after laying foundation of four projects of the nigam here.

Its turnover in 2012-13 fiscal was Rs 1,273.30 crore. The nigam presented a cheque of Rs 10 crore to the CM for his relief fund.

He said while addressing a function that when he had come to power he was pained to see that BRPNN which was established around the time of Uttar Pradesh Pul Nirman Nigam, in shambles.

Moving ahead on the path of growth, the nigam on the basis of the quality of work is now all set to venture out of the state and do work in Delhi and Ghaziabad, the CM said.

Kumar laid the foundation of work worth Rs 391.48 crore on Bailey road in the capital.

He said the innovative technology of SBTI (Swap Based Traffic Inter change) and GSUI (Grade separated U-turn interchange) adopted in the project would help in decongesting traffic in the capital town of Patna.

Chief Secretary Ashok Kumar Sinha, Development Commissioner Alok Kumar Sinha, Secretary Road Construction Department Pratya Amrit and Chairman of BRPNN Sanjeev Hans were present on the occasion.
