It also said that Kumar telephoned the father of Anukul Roy, who hails from Samastipur district in the state, and congratulated him for the sterling performance of his son who took 14 wickets during the series, two of these in the finals.
Meanwhile, in a statement, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi also congratulated the U-19 team for their victory and impressive performance in the World Cup.
