NLC trade unions to go on indefinite strike from Aug 3

Contract workers affiliated to various trade unions in Neyveli Lignite Corporation would go on an indefinite strike from August three demanding among other things regularisation of them and 26 days work in a month.
About 13,000 contract workers would participate the strike, R Palanivel, president DMK contract workers union and P Kuppasamy, Secretary CITU told reporters here today.
They said the talks with the management of the NLC earlier failed to find a solution to the issue.
