National Mazdoor Conference today appealed Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to announce and release the pending instalment of 10 per cent Dearness Allowance due from January one this year in favour of both central and state government employees at next union cabinet meeting.
"We appeal the Prime Minister to announce and release the pending instalment of 10 per cent DA due from January 1, 2014 in favour of both central and state government employees and pensioners at the next union cabinet meeting," NMC president Subash Shastri here said.
Shastri, while addressing NMC activists, said that salaried class was facing a lot of economic hardships due to high inflation and price rise and the early release of DA would be genuine measure to provide some relief to them.
The delay in the release of DA would not only puts burden on the central government exchequer to liquidate the arrears but also increase the difficulties of employees and pensioners, he added.
Stressing for formulating a National Pay Policy throughout the country, Shastri demanded for declaring 7th pay commission as a "National Pay Commission" which should cover both central and state government employees and pensioners.
He also demanded enhancement in the wages of daily wagers to Rs 10,000 per month, regularisation of all daily wagers, grant of disturbed area allowance, implementation of all central labour laws, increase of medical allowance to Rs 1,000 per month and declare Jammu and Srinagar as B-I cities.
