A 47-year-old employee of the Nashik Municipal Corporation allegedly committed suicide here today, police said.

Sanjay Dharankar, who worked as an assistant superintendent in the NMC's property tax department, allegedly hanged himself at his house in Gangapur Road locality this afternoon.

A suicide note found near the body said he was ending the life because of "work pressure", police said.

Dharankar was on leave for the past few days because of illness and had resumed duty only yesterday.

Police are conducting further probe.
