No announcement on mobile phones linked to MNREGA: Govt

The government today said it has not made any announcement to provide mobile phones to those job card holders who have worked for at least 100 days under rural employment scheme.
"No", said Minister of State for Rural Development Pradeep Jain 'Aditya' in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha to a question whether government has announced mobile phones for job card holders under MNREGA.
Earlier, reports quoting officials had said that one member of every rural households who has completed 100 days of work under MNREGA may get free mobile device under a new programme called 'Bharat Mobile Scheme' aimed at empowerment.
