In a written reply to the question of PDP member Shah Mohammad Tantry in Legislative Assembly, Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed said that no arms license has been issued to any non-state subject in district Poonch by the District Magistrate except army and security force personnel.
He said 521 licenses have been issued to permanent/local residents of Poonch in the last 10 years.
Giving further details, he said the highest number of 117 licenses have been issued in the year 2010, followed by 114 in 2007, 110 in 2009, 50 in 2005, 38 in 2006, 20 in 2011, 17 each in 2013 and 2014 respectively, 14 in 2012 and 6 in 2015.
