No demolition of unauthorised colonies till 2017, a provision of Rs 15 crore under the 'Swachch Bharat Mission', and a unique ID for property tax are among the proposals made by the Standing Committee of the SDMC in its budget today.
The panel, besides rejecting tax hikes proposed earlier by the municipal commissioner also proposed a sum of Rs 10 crore for removal of drain water from the unauthorised colonies.
"A centralised pay and accounts office in headquarters will be started in the four Zones by the next financial year. We also propose a unique ID for property tax through private agency," SDMC's Standing Committee Chairman Subhash Arya said.
Besides, a new outdoor policy to control illegal wall wraps and hoardings has also been proposed in the South Delhi Municipal Corporation's budget.
"Under the 'Swach Bharat Mission', a provision of Rs 15 crore has been made. Also, 5,000 dustbins would be put up in SDMC markets. 15 per cent fund allocation for sanitation, among others," Arya said.
Medical facility to all councillors and ex-councillors and insurance of Rs 5 lakh per annum to all councillors have also been proposed in the budget.
In its budget speech in November, the commissioner had proposed a hike of 45 per cent in the Base Unit Area Value for property tax assessment, Rs 10 crore for sanitation under the 'Clean India' campaign, and running parking sites in partnership with DIMTS.
