No disruption to Afghan ground line of supplies through Pakistan

There is currently no disruption to the Afghan ground lines of communication through Pakistan, the Pentagon has said.

"They (Pakistan) have done nothing to shut down the ground line of communication from the south, or the air line of communication that comes in over western Pakistan," Lt Gen. Kenneth F McKenzie, Joint Staff Director, told reporters at a Pentagon news conference yesterday.

He was responding to a question on a recent interview in which Pakistan's foreign minister said that the government was very upset at the way the US had been treating Islamabad, and that they were considering actively shutting down the US supply lines to Afghanistan.

"I am not in a position to talk about what they may or may not have said at the diplomatic level, but I can tell you that at the military level, those lines remain open and that stuff is continuing to flow across them," McKenzie said.
