There was no report of any fresh death in the Bihar flood today with the toll remaining at 213 even as most of the rivers continued to flow below the danger mark in the state.
Flood conditions continued to prevail in 12 districts, including Patna. A total of 79 blocks and 613 panchayats have been inundated in the state.
It was a pleasant day in the national capital with the mercury settling a notch above the season's average.
"The maximum and minimum temperatures were 35.6 and 26 degrees Celsius respectively in Delhi, both a notch above normal," a MeT official said.
The humidity levels oscillated between 78 and 52 per cent, witnessing a dip of 20 per cent in the week's average.
The weatherman has predicted a clear day tomorrow with the possibility of maximum and minimum temperatures hovering around 35 and 25 degrees Celsius respectively.
In Bihar, as per information available with the Water Resources department, the Punpun was flowing 2 cm above the danger level at Sripalpur, the Kamla Balan was flowing 3 cm above the danger mark at Jhanjharpur and the Kosi was flowing above 1 cm at Baltara in Khagaria district.
The other rivers, including the Ganga, were flowing below the danger mark, the department said in a release.
The flood has affected 40.60 lakh people in 2,190 villages, it added.
About 4.03 lakh people have been evacuated from flood-hit Buxar, Bhojpur, Patna, Vaishali, Saran, Begusarai, Samastipur, Lakhisarai, Khagaria, Munger, Bhagalpur and Katihar districts, the release said.
The government has deployed 2,973 boats for evacuating those affected while national and state disaster response forces have been deployed in the flood-hit districts.
Around 1.5 lakh people have been given shelter at 257 relief camps and as many as 220 shelters were being run for cattle.
The temperature remained comfortable in Patna and other parts of the state due to rains triggered by the southwest monsoon which has been active over the state for the last 24 hours, the MeT department said.
Light to moderate rainfall occurred at most places in the southwestern, south-central and northwestern parts of the state while one or two places witnessed heavy rainfall.
There is a forecast of a generally cloudy sky with light rains in major cities of Patna, Gaya, Bhagalpur and Purnea tomorrow.
