There is no move to shift Aero India out of Bangalore and the booking of spaces for the 2013 edition is already on for the IAF station, Yelahanka, where all previous editions have been held, Defence Ministry sources said here.
The Bangalore International Airport limited (BIAL) had raised certain objections over the closure of air space during the air show through the Civil Aviation Ministry but there is no change so far in the plans about the venue of the show, they said.
When objections were raised over the closure of air space for five days, a suggestion had come for shifting the venue of the show to Lucknow but it was shot down since it did not have the other infrastructure such as hotels to host a show of this magnitude, they said.
Over 500 Indian and foreign companies participate in the air show every two years to showcase their aircraft and other products for the Indian Armed Forces in Bangalore. The last edition of the show was held in 2011.
