BJP's Uttar Pradesh in-charge Amit Shah said the party's parliamentary board has not decided on the fielding of candidates for Lok Sabha seats.
"Announcement regarding candidates for Lok Sabha seats has not been made by the party's parliamentary board officially till now," Shah said.
"Whatever media reports are coming, neither have I made any confirmation nor has anyone in BJP officially confirmed to the media," he said.
Shah clarified that Joshi was the sitting MP from Varanasi seat and is presently our Lok Sabha candidate.
Advani had earlier today made it clear that he will be contesting the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, seeking to put a lid on speculation that he may be nominated to the Rajya Sabha.
He had said that "if somebody offers me this suggestion (about going to RS) I will think about it".
