Day and night temperatures were above normal in most parts of the state by upto two to three notches as the state has received no rains since yesterday.
Bankura and Sriniketan recorded the day's highest temperature in the state at 35.0 degrees Celsius, while Kolkata followed closely at 34.9, the Met department said.
Night temperature hovered around 28 degrees Celsius in many parts of the state, both in Gangetic West Bengal as also in sub-Himalayan parts of the state, except the hilly terrains in Darjeeling district.
