No real policy offer from Trump: Clinton

Hours after her emphatic performance in the first presidential debate, Democrat Hillary Clinton today said her Republican rival Donald Trump had no real policy prescription to offer and the American people had a chance to see the difference between the two candidates.
"I think viewers got a real chance to begin to compare us on policy," Clinton said.
"Laying out my plan for strong growth and fair growth and dealing with family economic issues, like affordable childcare and paid family leave and debt-free college with no real response, no real offer coming from my opponent," she said.
Thrilled by her performance during last night's debate, Clinton said she got to articulate her policies on key issues.

"I felt so positive about it, and one of the thoughts that popped in my head was, one of my favorite baseball players growing up, Ernie Banks, used to get so excited about going to play that he'd say, "Let's play two." So I'm looking forward to the next debate and then the one after that," she said.
Responding to a question, Clinton alleged that Trump's demeanor, temperament, behaviour on the stage could be seen by everybody and people can draw their own conclusions.

"I thought, on several occasions, he was making charges and claims that were demonstrably untrue, offering opinions that I think a lot of people would find offensive and off-putting," the 68-year-old former secretary of state said.

"He can run his campaign and present himself however he chooses, but the real point is about temperament and fitness and qualification to hold the most important, hardest job in the world. And I think people saw last night some very clear difference between us," Clinton said.
Asked if she is concerned that Trump might not show up for the next debates, Clinton said she would anyway appear there.
"I'm going to show up. He gets to decide what he's going to, but I will be there... If I'm the only person on stage, well, you know, I'm the only person on stage," she said.

Clinton said the real-estate tycoon "talks down America every chance he gets."
"He calls us names. He calls us a third-world country. He talks in such dire and dark terms. That's now who America is. We are the best problem-solvers in the world, our diversity is a strength."
Clinton and Trump battled it out in front of millions of undecided American voters over racism, terror and temperament in their first presidential debate. After the 90-minute-long clash, the US media declared Clinton winner of the contest.
The debate, first of the three planned ahead of the November 8 elections, was watched by an expected television audience of up to 100 million.
