No respite from scorching heat in UP

There was no respite from scorching heat in Uttar Pradesh with weather remaining mainly dry over the state and Allahabad recording the highest maximum temperature of 46.7 degree Celsius.
According to the MET department, day temperature largely rose in Allahabad division, markedly rose in Varanasi, Lucknow, Jhansi divisions, appreciably rose in Gorakhpur, Faizabad, Kanpur, Bareilly and Agra divisions.
They were markedly above normal in Allahabad division, appreciably above normal in Kanpur, Jhansi and Agra divisions while above normal in Lucknow division.
The MET department has predicted dry weather over West UP and dust storm/thunder storm accompanied by squall at isolated places.
