Salary of state government officials for the month of April will be withheld in case they have not filed their annual property return by April 10, Gujarat Chief Secretary J N Singh said today.
"The salary of Class 1 and Class 2 employees of the state government for the month of April, payable in May, will be withheld in case they have not yet filed their annual property return," Singh told reporters in Gandhinagar.
He said that withholding salary was the first step, and going forward, their promotion, training and empanelment could also be affected,
