Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who brought in his 72nd birthday with family, does not have any special plans as he feels it is just another day for him.
Bachchan said though he does not give much importance to his birthday, he took blessings of his late father Harivansh Rai Bachchan.
"It is a very normal day, nothing special. I went to Prateeksha to take my father's blessings. I still feel they are still there. I do that every day before going for work. It is Karva Chauth today so all the women of the house are fasting, so at night we will have a simple dinner," Bachchan told reporter at his Janak office, while cutting a cake with them.
The icon said he could not fast for his actress-politician wife Jaya unlike previous years because of his health issues.
"I have to take medicine so doctor has advised me not to keep fast, hence I could not do it this time," said the actor, who was dressed in an orange Abu Sandip kurta.
Bachchan also took the opportunity to thank millions of his fans for their love and support.
"I did not have any goal or aim when I came to the industry. It is the love of all which had made me what I am today," he said.
Bachchan credited his parents' genes for his energetic nature.
"I think my energy is genetic," he said.
