Nobel Peace Prize-winner Kailash Satyarthi will make a guest appearance on TV docu-drama 'Crime Patrol Satark' for a special series on child labour and bride trafficking.
The 61-year-old child rights activist and Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014 for their struggle against the suppression of children and young people and for the right of all children to education.
'Crime Patrol Satark' airs on Sony channel.
"Mr Kailash Satyarthi, founder of Bachpan Bachao Andolan is appearing as a guest on 'Crime Patrol'. His association with the show is only restricted to providing his perspective on the issue of child trafficking," a statement from Sony read.
The series, to be aired on Republic Day, will showcase some of the most brutal crimes in India's history including the 2012 Delhi Gang Rape case.
"I have always propagated against societal evils like Child exploitation and trafficking in India and Crime Patrol provides the perfect platform for me to advocate this cause further.
"We need the citizens of this country to consciously take part in reducing the incidence of crime in their surroundings. With 'Crime Patrol' I hope we can encourage people to do their bit to fight crime," Satyarthi said.
