The Noida administration has ordered a probe into the admission process in schools after complaints were received that parents were submitting fake income certificates to get their wards admitted under the Right to Education Act.
Noida District Magistrate B N Singh said he has ordered the probe which will be supervised by the city magistrate. The admission process for the new session, however, will continue, he said.
He said the district administration has so far admitted 229 students in various private schools in the city but he was getting complaints that several parents have procured fake income certificates for admission of their children under the Act though they have annual income more than one lakh rupee.
The DM has directed the city magistrate to send notices to parents and check the authenticity of their income certificates.
He has also appealed to the public to provide information of persons having higher income whose names appears in the RTE Act beneficiaries.
