Amid complaints of misbehaviour by 'bouncers' at some residential societies here, three private security agencies have been booked for irregularities in their operations, police officials said Tuesday.
As many as 215 residential societies in Noida and Greater Noida were inspected during a three-hour drive on Monday night as part of the ongoing 'Operation Clean', a senior official said.
"During the inspection, 36 bouncers were rounded up from 18 residential societies. They were being employed in violation of the Private Security Agency Regulation Act, 2005. They were brought to police station for questioning," Gautam Buddh Nagar Senior Superintendent of Police Vaibhav Krishna said.
"They were told to don uniforms as mentioned in the PSAR Act and behave politely while at work," he said.
During the inspection, three security agencies were found to be working without registration under the PSAR Act and FIR has been registered against them under relevant sections of the law, Krishna said.
The agencies that have been booked are X-men Security Agency (Swarnim Vihar Society Sector 82), Golden Metro and Facility Security Agency (Sector 92) and AVJ Heights Security Agency (Xeta 1, Greater Noida), the police said.
The move has found favour with the public which lauded the police action against "ill-mannered bouncers" deployed allegedly by some private builders.
"Having consumed protein supplements in huge quantities these bouncers started considering themselves as IPS officers! They misbehave with residents and bully visitors... It's a great initiative to check their rude attitude and educate them on how to behave in a civilised society," said Abhas Shikar, a city resident.
The Gautam Buddh Nagar police has launched the special drive -- 'Operation Clean' -- since July 1 wherein each day a three-hour campaign is carried out to check various crimes and irregularities related to law and order and road traffic.
