Non-edibles recover on renewed demand

Castor seeds bold and castor oil commercial recovered at the Vashi oils and oilseeds wholesale market here today on renewed demand from soaps and shippers industries.

Elsewhere, linseed oil also rebounded modestly owing to fresh demand from paint and allied industries.

While, refined palmolein softened due to subdued demand from retailers.

Meanwhile, groundnut oil ruled steady in the absence of any large-scale buying activity.

In the non-edible segment, castor seeds bold rose by Rs 25 per 100 kg to Rs 4,115 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 4,090 and castor oil commercial gained by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 853 as against Rs 848.

Linseed oil also regained by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 810 as compared Rs 805 yesterday.

Moving to edible section, refined palmolein edged down by Rs 2 per 10 kg to Rs 708 from Rs 710 and groundnut oil ended unaltered to Rs 830 per 10 kg, respectively.
