The 70-year-old posted the picture on his micro blogging site Twitter and said, "The poster of mine for GG .. Not worthy of being there, considering my minuscule role, but Baz Luhrmann."
"The poster of Great Gatsby, something I thought to be too presumptuous but Baz Luhrmann insisted that it be done so there," he added.
Bachchan, who has a blink-and-miss role in the film, plays Meyer Wolfsheim in the 3D project, an adaptation of F Scott Fitzgerald's novel of the same name.
The film also stars Hollywood biggies Tobey Maguire and Leonardo Di Caprio.
