Writer of well-known Marathi novel "Sarkarnama", Jhankar later produced the Marathi movie with the same name in 1998, which had won many awards.
Hollywood movie 'Singularity' by filmmakar Roland Joffe was based on Jhankar's novel 'Drohparv'. He was the co-screenwriter for the film.
Known for his marketing venture 'Market Missionaries', Jhankar is remembered for his contribution in marketing and in film industry.
He was also an award winner lyricist.
Jhankar is survived by wife and two daughters.
