Notification issued for Jharkhand 1st phase polling

Notification for the first phase of polling in 13 of the 81 Jharkhand Assembly seats was issued today.
The seats where polling will be held on November 25 are Chatra (SC), Gumla (ST), Bishunpur (ST), Lohardaga (ST), Manika (ST), Latehar (SC), Panki, Daltonganj, Bishrampur, Chhatarpur (SC), Hussainabad, Garhwa and Bhawanathpur.
The Election Commission had originally slated October 29 for issuance of notification for the first phase, but rescheduled it in view of Chhath festival tomorrow.
November 5 will be the last date for filing nominations for the first phase while November 7 is date for scrutiny and November 10 the last date for withdrawal.
Jharkhand will have a five-phase polling on November 25, December 2, 9, 14 and 20. Counting of votes will take place on December 23.
The term of the present Assembly ends on January 3.
