A police team stopped two motorcycle-borne men under Jawa police station area last night who opened fire injuring Circle Officer Barla, Anuj Chaudhary and Sub-inspector Abhay, a Home department spokesman here said.
Notorious criminal Vikas alias Khujli was killed while the other person managed to escape, the spokesman said, adding that he was carrying a cash reward of Rs 55,000 on his head.
A pistol, a country-made gun, cartridges and a motorcycle were recovered from him, he said.
The injured policemen have been admitted to a hospital, the spokesman said.
