NTPC inaugurates Data Recovery Centre at Secunderabad

NTPC Chairman and Managing Director Gurdeep Singh today inaugurated the Data Recovery Centre, an alternative IT back up facility for ERP system of the company, here today.
The facility was inaugurated at NTPC Southern Region Headquarters at Secunderabad, an official release said.
"Built with the state-of-the-art technology and spread over about 2000 square feet server farm area, the DR Centre facility at NTPC Southern Region Headquarters has Integrated Intelligent Building Management System (IBMS) and Data Centre Infrastructure Management (DCIM) Systems," it said.
NTPC is the first PSU in the country which has adopted complete change in SAP hardware and migration to a new platform, he claimed.

Prior to Commissioning its own Data Recovery Centre, NTPC operated out of a leased private Data centre located in 'Hitech City' in Hyderabad since 2009, said the release.
NTPC identified Hyderabad as the location for Data Recovery Centre as it falls in zone II seismic region, it added.
